Slidecast. Or something like that.

What I'm going to post here was supposed to be posted at least two months ago. I'm going to explain what happend. I had to create a slidecast: a presentation in which I insert my narration. I had a great idea about what should be the theme of this slidecast and started to work. I found great pictures and edited them. The last step was to create the presentation.
After the presentation was done, I went to Aviary, a tool I have already talked about here, and recorded myself reading the script I wrote for this presentation. I recorded the script for each slide separatly and in the end I put it all together. I also added some cool sounds at the beginning and at the end of the file.
I uploaded the presentation and the mp3 file (my narration) on Slideshare. The last thing was to synchronize the sound with the slides. And here my frustration began. It didn't work. The tool was not buffering the mp3 file. I tried to upload it again. I tried to do it in different computers, using a faster internet connection and nothing worked. I became extremely upset and had already given up when Ana Maria Menezes (my great teacher) told me to do a simple thing I have done earlier: a screencast (what I did just yesterday, because during my vacation I traveled a lot hehehe. I used Screencast-o-matic to record it). And here it is!!! You can check the result watching the video below.
I think a slidecast can be an excellent tool to work with students. They could create the presentations and record themselves speaking. But you have to be sure that it is going to work perfectly
You can try it yourself. If it works, go for it. But if it doesn't work, be sure you have another option to rescue you.
